Giving Back...

 SoulFlair is a passion project of Laura Flair, aiming to inspire others to step out of fear and into courage, past the traumas and into the passion.

With a great desire to help those who need a little extra light in their lives, Laura is donating 10% of total profits in the most direct way that she has found helpful. 

5% will go to Our Place drop in center and shelter in Victoria BC. Our Place is an integral part of the community in Victoria, offering meals, showers, foot care, clothing, outreach support, education, employment support and shelter to hundreds of people in need.

The other 5% will go towards a scholarship program to fund an art program for a worthy person who may not be able to afford to step into their passion otherwise. We are still researching and have yet to decide on the scholarship program, so will be holding funds until this happens and are also open to suggestions for programs. "Part of my mission is to give back and to inspire those who feel lost. 

I have lived through hard drug addictions, sexual, physical and mental abuse, and have been diagnosed with bi-ploar disorder, depression and anxiety. I moved away from my family at the age of 12, I had children at a young age, my first at 15. I have been in car accidents that led to lifelong chronic pain and later diagnosed with hypermobility and scoliosis. I have been homeless, suicidal and poor. I have been so lost I didn’t have any idea on how to be human. 

I now have an adult son and a teenage son. I see my eldest son working through his own mental health symptoms such as opiate addiction and street living. I observe my teenage son who lives according to his own rules. I am fearful and feel helpless when all I want to do is help.

When I tapped into my creativity and artistic passion, it showed me a place of healing and brought purpose and spark into my life. 

I have been fortunate in my life and have been given opportunities to embrace my creativity. I have been blessed with many people who have gifted time, resources, love and support through my journey. I know that not everyone might get that same opportunity, so I want to offer what help I can.

What I know I can do is to be a support to both of my sons by leading by example and being the best possible version of myself. To me, that means living my purpose which is guiding, inspiring and supporting others to be the best possible versions of themselves. I have seen my adult son step into his passions and in that I have seen transformations may save his life. 

I feel so blessed to have strength, support and abundance in my life. I have no doubt that I am living the paradox that says that I needed to live through such dark and hard times so I could come out the other side and help others who have been through the same."
